What is EMDR?

EMDR, or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy, is an evidence-based intervention proven to help individuals struggling with trauma and can also be a helpful treatment for anxiety, depression, OCD, chronic pain, addictions, and other distressing life experiences.  In EMDR, bilateral stimulation in the form of eye movements, tapping, or sounds is utilized as the client processes distressing life experiences resulting in a reduction in the vividness and emotion associated with the memories.
